Radiation - MPE and CRE review procedures

MPE and CRE Review Procedures

The Medical Physics Expert (MPE) and Clinical Radiation Expert (CRE) Review Procedures clarify the information requirements for the MPE and CRE assessments in Part B Section 3 of IRAS. Both documents are maintained by the HRA Four Nations Radiation Assurance Working Party, and were initially produced by the Radiation Guardians Group, which assisted with the initial development of Radiation Assurance.

The Review Procedures should be used by all MPEs and CREs who are providing assessments in Part B Section 3 of IRAS. Where any guidance differs for those studies which are going through Radiation Assurance this is clearly specified in the documents.

Feedback

Feedback and/or suggestions for updates to the MPE or CRE Review Procedure should be sent to: radiation.assurance@hra.nhs.uk

Feedback received will be considered by the Four Nations Radiation Assurance Working Party.
